Since 2012 KCA decided on Camp Quality as their chosen charity. We regularly donate throughout the year as we feel their organisation does really important work. Camp Quality’s purpose is to create a better life for every child living with cancer in Australia. We are committed to delivering national programs that build resilience and optimistic behaviours for all children (0-13 years) living with cancer in Australia.
KCA has been operating out of the Mitcham Cultural Village since 2011. We have also teamed up with the council on a number of projects such as Youth Week, Voices of the Village, The Community Shed Program
and Multicultural Events.
KCA has been the primary sponsor for the Adelaide Kids Film Festival since 2012. The festival provides opportunities for kids in SA to see high quality films made for children, and the ability to screen films made by young people. KCA has also helped the AKFF by providing filmmaking workshops to rural and regional kids.
The Adelaide International Youth Film Festival took over from the Adelaide Kids Film festival in 2015. KCA is a proud sponsor of the festival and continues to work closely with this exciting new event.
Channel 44 is a free-to-air community television channel in Adelaide, South Australia. C44 features locally and nationally made content and has been broadcasting since 23 April 2004. Channel 44 has partnered up with KCA to launch the new KCA TV show.
Partnering with Cinekids has been very valuable for KCA especially Capture the Action. We receive mentoring sessions and workshops from industry professionals in the area of cinematography.
KCA students who sign up with ACS CineKids will receive a Welcome Pack with a membership certificate, membership card, note pad and pen, access to our eNews both National & State, and various screenings and workshops, along with mentoring from our ACS cinematographers.
KCA and Capture the Action have been members of the global “Cinemasports” organisation since 2014. Cinemasports has staged dozens of events in cities worldwide since 2004. It is a fantastic way for students work to get recognised by an international audience.
Kids Camera Action was a finalist in 2013 for the best “School Aged Activity” in South Australia.
The Adelaide University has created a wonderful initiative for kids called Children’s University. We were approached to become a learning destination for the participants in 2014 and continue to support the program and their students.
KCA has been on Carclew’s radar since 2011 and has helped us by spreading the word about up coming workshops and events. KCA also is able to utilise spaces that Carclew and Fifth Quarter have offered at reasonable rates.
Our partnership began in 2015 and will continue the partnership with the bi-ennial festival in 2017. 20x KCA films were screened at the opening event at the Adelaide Oval in front of 1600 students. We also mounted a Live Green Screen for the Family Weekend, which saw us engage with hundreds of kids over two days.
Kids Camera Action was lucky enough to receive a small business grant from Australia Post in 2015 to assist with the purchase of extra equipment to ensure we can deliver our unique programs to regional areas of SA.
We are thrilled to have been selected by Active Activities as one of the Most Popular Kids Activities for 2015, coming in at number seven!
